The makerspace is intended to be an open workshop for adults. This isn't a boutique STEM lab or arts & crafts studio aimed at kids. . DMS is a functional fabrication workshop for adults that pay a monthly membership. There are expensive and dangerous tools in the open shop. The classrooms are separated from the shop and could be safer, however in general the space is not suitable for groups of children.
There are very few events and classes that are scheduled specifically for kids, but many of the classes are appropriate for kids 12+. That said, anyone under 18 has to be under direct supervision, we don't have classes where you can just drop off you kids and pick them up after class.
