Are these "meetings" about general woodworking or are they specific to a skill or a tool? Shopsmith used to have meetings in north Dallas at one of the woodworking stores (woodcraft?) but these were discontinued when they moved to Richardson.

Yes there are. If you go to the class schedule meetings are listed there as well.

Meetings are usually for the leaders to discuss policy other than that they have classes for specific skills on equipment. You can't use the equipment until you have completed a certification class and that is on your card.

The DMS is a member/volunteer run organization. So administration and clean up/fine tuning of tools- there are Woodshop MEETINGS. They also make admin decisions about the woodshop. The Dallas Makerspace has an events calendar where CLASSES are offered to teach you tools and techniques. Finally there are CLUBS- like whittling- that meet to discuss technique as well as work together.

There are both tool meetings, but there's also technique meetings and project meetings
