Yes, the building was donated to one of the hospitals in the area when Leona Hemsley died, and the rest if the estate went to her dog. It is part patient lodging, and part medical trainee lodging.
This building was built in 1986 so Helmsley may have donated money, but it most certainly wasn't a Helmsley building beforehand. If you want to know the origin of the land and previous structures, check into Edward S. Harkness. Or even the surgeon Lenox.
