Clean, comfortable room, amazing location if you need to be close to Cornell hospital

Great place to stay if you have family in the hospital. Also good location. Surrounding area has lots of dining options.

Great location and amenities, beautiful view... But there may be a few cockroaches to be found, as is the case for most of buildings in Manhattan.

A very good place to say. They have a pretty big rooms, and they are clean. I recommend the hotel

There are no walk in handicap showers or handheld shower heads, for people who are recovering from operations at the nearby hospitals, in any of the hotel rooms.
We were using a wheelchair and they were large enough plus several people.
Yes, the building was donated to one of the hospitals in the area when Leona Hemsley died, and the rest if the estate went to her dog. It is part patient lodging, and part medical trainee lodging.
I think the rate is $140 per night. Best to check with hospital. There may be a special rate for patient families if patient has been admitted to the hospital. Rooms include small kitchen, with pots, pans, cooking utensils and dishes, along with eating area. Check with the hospital or inform the hotel that you or a family member has been or will be admitted during stay be to see if there is a special rate. This is primarily the purpose if these rooms. Of course, they will need verification as well. Hoping for a speedy recovery!
I believe also for HSS and Sloan. Not sure about others. You can call and ask.
Yes. In the basement , there are many washers and drivers. You have to get a key card from the front desk. It's not "quarter operated" like I once knew! Helmsley is a great place to stay if you are a patient/family of MSK or surrounding hospitals. Has a kitchen, and easy to get groceries. Housekeeping will clean up for you as well. I've been there 3 times. God bless....
There is a deli with awesome food right next door, it does have a small amount of seating inside.
Our room was covered by insurance. But it averages around $300 a night.
To be clear, you drive to the entrance, they park the car for your stay and retrieve it for departure. Not really set up for speedy retrieval, but you don't park it so I suppose you call that "Valet."
It was valet when I went a few months ago. I drove into garage and the valet parked my car.
All the rooms we ever stayed at did. Also have dishes, pots, pans, etc. There's a deli right next store, and a Duane Read right across the street. I bought all paper goods, etc. It also has laundry facility in the lower level, and its own parking garage, on the side street. We've stayed there 4 times. Great if you're looking for a place to stay if someone is at Memorial Sloan or Columbia Presbyterian.
The resident rate is subsidized. As far as I know Cornell residents get Cornell housing in Helmsley or one of the other nearby buildings, and Columbuia residents get different housing near Columbia.
The building has both hotel-style rooms for guests and families, and apartment housing (via rental with lease) for hospital employees.
There is a deli right next door to the hotel with a amazing menu (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and it has a small amount of seating available. I highly recommend, prices are fair and staff is great! There are also menus at the front desk for places that deliver...
