BEWARE OF ILLEGAL TAKINGS We arrived tuesday October 04 in the POD hotel with a reservation room (n°902) + taxes included. To our surprise, the hotel asks us to pay another tax for the week of 160$. We pay this amount. The next day, the same amount (160$) was charged again. After checking with the receptionist, she told us that it was a system error and that a refund would be made on our account. On the third day, the hotel charged us $50, supposedly for the room deposit. After checking, no indication concerning a possible deposit was made to us... So we were obliged to withdraw all our money in cash to be sure that the hotel would not take any other money illegally... That's 210$ taken illegally on our week of vacation... After going to see a person at the reception again, she told us that the amount would be credited on Friday, October 7. We are back from our stay since yesterday and we still haven't received anything. Following these illegal deductions, we will surely contact a lawyer in order to open the necessary legal measures for a refund and damages. Apart from this scam, the hotel is well located and the rooms very clean, but I will not recommend it in view of what happened.

I’m really grateful to the hotel. They were so nice. They didn’t charge me a no-show fee because I didn’t come to New York. And they responded quickly to my email. I am so glad that the hotel and Dafne helped me a lot. Next time I come to New York, I will definitely stay in this hotel. I’m strongly recommend this hotel.

A very affordable and simple budget hotel with a great location by the port authority. This puts you right by the subway, bus station and a close walk to Times Square and Central Park. You can get anywhere from this location. The rooms are small but the beds, shower and restroom are modern and clean. There's no breakfast included but that's fine because you are in the core of the city and there's food on every corner. Try liberty Bagels or a diner for breakfast.

Yes. One set from ground floor to lobby level, and then a different set of lifts to the guest rooms. That way random people don't come off the street and go straight to rooms.

He has nothing for breakfast, no refrigerator. The only thing it has is a TV and central air conditioning.
No there isn't a microwave or a kettle or a refrigerator but the room is spotless and adorable and the staff are sensational!!! Plus, it's in a truly fantastic area!!!
Currently, the deck is open, the bar/restaurant is not. There are loads of restaurants within walking/delivery distance, though, so its not a big deal.

They were in the process of building one. I believe there will eventually be a rooftop restaurant. I'm not sure when it will be finished.

They have a relationship with a garage a short walking distance away. Discounted rate of $20 or $25 per 24 hours, with validation from the hotel. That being said, we had to work like hell to get the parking garage to honor the validation.
I am not sure about the official check in time but when I arrived they allowed to check in at 8 AM because the room was already emptied and cleaned.
