please can someone tell me about the so called recommended. I want to renew my passport for the epassport . Do I need to have just the photocopy of recommenders ID or also a letter from him/her?

You only need the recommender's photocopy ID. You don't need a letter from them.

I think they need just a copy of the kenyan id.

Be sure to complete the online application first because once you're finished filing it out and adding the recommenders info, there's a part after you've printed it out that requires their signature [In addition to including their I.D and Kenyan phone number]
