I think NADRA can give you birth certificate. I am not sure whether they can make a duplicate for you or not. But Birth certificate/CNIC are under their domain. Their system is completely online. You can order it from here.

You can contact the embassy by their timings otherwise in my opinion, I don't think so because if you are taking connecting flight then you don't need to have visa and if you want to visit outside of airport then you definitely need a visa according to the law.

Scenario 1: if you are traveling on a passport other then pakistan then it depends on the visa/passport expiry, and duration of you stay in PAKISTAN. Otherwise on the airport even if you have 5 day to expire you are good to go, but once expired then it will be a problem. Scenario 2: you have Pakistani passport, then take CNIC/ NICOP with you so if it expires you can renew it in local NADRA office. Scenario 3: you are foreign passport; in this case you will apply for a pakistani visa and in this case ask the embassy first because on 5 months to expire they probably will not issue a visa on that passport. I don't think the Embassy of Pakistan in USA can help you. I think you can only contact the officials at Embassy of Pakistan in Afghanistan. We are the US citizens here in Washington, DC and the people of Embassy sometimes give us hard time too. They don't even pick up the phones neither talk nicely at their office.

You have to have, 1. Xerox copy of KHULA. 2. Your driver license . 3. Your US Passport 4. Your NICOP 5. Credit card for Fee payment which is not much. Don't forget to take a number at the entry.

Last week I went to Pakistan Embassy in Washington DC to obtain a visa for my son and I. Also accompanied by a friend of mine who applied for a passport renewal. Neither of us had a prior appointment ahead of our visit. We just showed up early at 9am. The embassy staff was very courteous and helpful. They welcome walkins from 9 am to 12 noon. And most likely they take care of you during the same business day. Just make sure all your documents are complete and you have copies of everything that needs to be submitted. They are not accepting the application for renewing the passport this time. If you want to extend the validity of passport for an year, go to the embassy with your CNIC, and passport with visa. They will extend the validity on the spot.

I may not be totally right but you can apply directly through your sponsor for the extension. "The applicant's sponsor organization is responsible for submitting the new DS-2019 before the original expires. The best plan is to request an extension of the visa on the day that you learn that you are going to need to be in the country for a longer period of time. U need a friend or relative in pakistan to vouch for you. You need that invitation letter notarized and mailed to you from Pakistan. Your sponsor also needs to send u a notarized copy of their CNIC. Both documents must be notarized in Pakistan. These two items are required for a visa.

Well I guess if you adopt someone from Pakistan and if you want to bring that person here, you need to go through US embassy or USCIS not Pakistan embassy.

You can walk in and can get your document attested. Per document its 5$ charge. They can attest your Government of Pakistan issued documents and i think they can attest your state issued drivers license but i m not sure about it.

You don't want anyone sponsoring you from US. That will make it look like you could get into the US and never leave. Complete opposite to the way you would get a US citizen a Pakistani visa

They don't take pictures there, you will have to bring them with you. There is a copier there which only accepts $ bills, not quarters in particular. They also accept all major credit cards as well. I would try applying for it online as well.
