I never had any issues, I was pretty happy there. I would walk my Pomeranian at all hours, sometimes as late as 1am... No problems.
To be honest, yes this is an overall safe place to live. Security patrols often with a gated property. My good friends have lived here over 4 years and in that time never experienced any incidents but like anywhere else just be cautious to your surroundings and if at all possible be in pairs at night.
