You're allowed to have up to three dogs if you live on 0.46 acres or less, unlimited dogs on more than 0.46 acres, and no limit on cats for any property unless set by a landlord.

three adult dogs will be allowed on lots less than a half-acre and no more than two adult dogs will be allowed in areas zoned for multi-family residential housing. I have had up to six cats in the past. They were indoor only though.
