When is hunting season?
Wait...so I can camp anywhere I want in the forest? (Within reason) what are the fees?
Being the southernmost National Forest and overseen the US Forest Service it allows for primitive camping within limits. The big concern for campers is Hunting Season. During that time all camping is restricted to designated campgrounds normally occupied by hunters. It is probably best if you stick the camp grounds during hunting season for there is not set limits for hunters in the national forest they are free to hunt were ever they like to
