Minnesota has gone to 100% online reservations before you can camp at state parks. It ruined the camping for many people as the sell out months ahead of time and many people cannot make plans that far ahead with families, kids, and jobs. You will rarely find any open camping on the north shore in summer now and sites sit empty because they were reserved and not canceled.
Yes its all online
He's you have to call Minnesota dnr to reserve.
Yes you should, you can call once you arrive but if it's full you won't be able to
I would, especially on weekends. Otherwise you could find yourself in a remote area with nowhere to stay!
Maybe I just got lucky but I called three days ahead of time and got a camping spot plus there was three more open and that was July 4th
Yes you do. If they are full, I'd recommend looking into the Grand Marais municipal campground. It's a nice park right on the lake and it's only a 30 minute drive from Temperance. That's always been my best bet when everything else is booked.
Should try for reserve. Some drive up site are available. Campsites fill up quickly this time of year.
Summer months are usually booked out a month or 2 in advance
Yes. I would highly recommend making a reservation.
