This is one of my favorite Minnesota state parks. Especially after a good rain the waterfalls are amazing! I highly recommend hiking to the top. The river is equally beautiful. Everything in the trail is clean and neat and well marked. If your going along the Northshore this is definitely worth your time to stop and check it out.

Good mix of different things to do. Lots of falls views and bridges for cool vantage points. Pebble Beach for rock skipping/lakeside lunches. Good mix of trails including intersection with paved trail (Gitchi Gami) for those with strollers/bikes.

The campsite was pretty average and there also wasn't any running water during my stay. But I must say the view of the river and Lake Superior is worth a trip to view! Absolutely gorgeous.

Awesome gorges where the river has cut through for thousands and thousands of years. Always one of my favorite stops. If you are adventurous keep going and hit Carlton peak. Long walk but the views are amazing!!!

Its close to the road
I live an hour away and we have 4 inches, and we are supposed to get 6" more today.
Fill before going to the park, sites don't have water hookup. I don't recall anything other than drinking water at the campground.
after July 1st
You would have to check on mn state park website
Minnesota has gone to 100% online reservations before you can camp at state parks. It ruined the camping for many people as the sell out months ahead of time and many people cannot make plans that far ahead with families, kids, and jobs. You will rarely find any open camping on the north shore in summer now and sites sit empty because they were reserved and not canceled.
