The redline which takes you to Hollywood, North Hollywood or Universal City, is not far. You can also take the Expo line which will get you to Santa Monica. All not far from the Millennium Biltmore
The tram isn't too bad, we walked around the downtown area. If youre looking for Santa Monica, Hollywood, or Beverly Hills, I'd suggest an Uber or Lyft. They were pretty cheap while we were out there

The subway and the light rails are often dangerous and unpleasant these days. Take the bus if you must - those are slow, often filthy, and can be dangerous, but possibly safer than the light rails & subway. Uber, Lyft, taxis are your best bet if possible. If youre going farther away, go to Union Station and try Amtrak or Metrolink trains.
