This was one of the best hotel experiences we have had. Our check-in was smooth and pleasant, and the attendant gave us an upgrade. The hotel room design was so unique and we loved the view of the downtown skyline. The amenities were also generous. One thing that could be improved is the parking, since there is no self parking site and we used the nearest parking garage instead of the valet parking available.

Stayed here for just 1 night, on a female room for 4 people, the rooms are good, everything you need for your stay and lockers too. Views are just amazing, my only but here it's that the Rooftop it's only open from 12 to 12, had no chance to see the view from it. Location it's also amazing so I would definitely stay here again.

Room on 1009 has the best view of the nice buildings and city life. Stayed for two nights and its perfect. Room was very clean and spacious. Having a corner room and large windows in 3 corners means lovely views of LA downtown. The bed and sheets are comfortable. Two sinks and spacious restroom was gracious. Very nice experience: customer service, room, location (surrounded by great restaurants and whole foods walking distance is a plus), and the Roof top views and the bar really top it all like cherry on top! Wow, thanks for the wonderful experience, highly recommended!

I travelled from the uk with two friends for super-bowl weekend and stayed at the freehand for 3 nights before moving on! and what a weekend it was , location is superb with the hotels aesthetic and rooftop bar definitely exceeding an already exciting expectation. This gem is a little slice of LA as you imagine! Probably the best rooftop bar in LA! Rooms were very nice clean and comfortable and the vibe was awesome! Will definitely be returning in the future! Thanks so much for making my first time in LA great!

Yes, you do not have to stay there. The indoor one is smaller though and does not have much of a bar atmosphere.
Haven't been to freehand miami, but I like this freehand, share rooms and regular rooms
I don't know I'm still waiting on my deposit
Just let the desk attendant know!
No, the restroom is not shared. You have your own bathroom for each room. 😉
Good, but not great for kids. For instance, you won't find highchairs or kids menus. However, I think you'll find the staff and guests generally friendly.

Yes but only for guests staying there. I've posted pics of the gym so check out Google pics here
Its pet friendly
This depends, of course, on what kind of experience you're looking for, as a single. With the option to stay in hostel-style rooms, and multiple bars, it is, in my opinion a good option for singles, whether you're looking to mingle or not. Co-ed hostel rooms and the rooftop bar could provide great opportunities to meet people. On the other hand, if your days are busy, you will hardly notice the others in your room, and enjoy the benefit of not paying more for a room that is excessive in size and amenities for a single traveler.
They give you a key with which you access the building to your floor and the pool area 24 hours a day Although the area is not very safe to walk in the early morning there are many drug addicts but the hotel itself is extremely safe Although it works As a hostel and hotel, be careful with your reservation because you can run into what you are going to share the very small room By the way, we had to travel three friends and a fourth woman was added who we did not want to bother at any time but it was strange
Hello Elia. Unfortunately there is no free parking in Downtown. There is a parking garage immediate behind the hotel (Joe's parking). It is around $20-$25 per night. Hope this helps. Per nights means "overnight".
Thank you. There are issues all over the city and safety can never be "guaranteed" but I have been here almost 3 years and have never had an issue. Just watch going out late at night.
We have a microwave upon request and will deliver if available. Hope this helps.
Only if you make a reservation thru open table. I had to beg and plead the guy at the front desk for access to the rooftop pool and bar, becuz that was the only reason that i booked the room. I checked in on Friday and the pool and bar was already prebooked up to Monday. We were finally given permission to only browse and take pictures for almost 5 minutes and then made to leave. I suggest making a reservation to the pool and bar before even booking this hotel.
I don't remember seeing one, but of they're open to it then they did have plenty of space inside that could store a bike without disrupting business.
I would say it is "family friendly" in the sense that you wouldn't feel uncomfortable bringing your family there. But it's definitely geared toward a younger crowd. Between the roof top bar and the hostel, it seems like a large portion of the guests are 20's-30's and traveling alone or in pairs. I don't recall seeing any kids when I was there but I wouldn't have been annoyed if it did see kids. Hope this helped!
You shouldn't have any issues. The state of California has a very strict policy about sexual harrassment.
Maximum Dorm size is eight people.
Probably best to call them
One way or another sounds like a party.
Its kinda cold and it is up until sundown
If it is safe, the hotel will keep them for you
I do not know why I do not know how to store it, it is clear to me
Yes mostly for guest's
Yes, it will be open
There's a metro statiom 5 min walk from the hotel. You can get to the studios in 40 min
They're policy is a bit strict. If you choose female room just be sure the room you selected is not shared. It has to be private.
There is a washer and.dryer facility in a cupboard within the breakfast room.
Swimming is for hotel guests only. But if you're not, I've seen people wet their feet while drinking.
There are mixed dorms firstly. Secondly, if you book 4 of you in a 4 bed dorm, it becomes private anyways.
Its about a 15 min walk
Yes, about 10 or 15 min. walk.
Not currently. Just use Google Translate. But there are Spanish speaking agents that may understand a little since it's a little similar to Portuguese
Decent place. CVS a block away. Colori kitchen across street. Doesn't look like much from outside but great food!

There's some free parking on the streets, depending on the day of the week. There's also parking lots around the hotel that average around $7 a day, but often have no overnight parking. According to Freehand's FAQ: "We have valet available for $44/night with in & out privileges. There is a public parking garage next door on Olive Street as well!"
