Thank you. There are issues all over the city and safety can never be "guaranteed" but I have been here almost 3 years and have never had an issue. Just watch going out late at night.
I was there and nothing happened to me, I moved day and night (the latest I got back was at 11 pm) very few people on the streets. But nobody bothered me (if you want to be quiet stay in venice beach or Santa Monica)
