I agree with local guide as stated. There is a good amount of paperwork.
You should go to a passport office and get the paperwork because there is a lot of paperwork to fill out and you have to provide fingerprints and passport photos before you go and get the actual passport. Once you have all the right documents it doesn't take long at all
