You would have to call ahead or walk up to an agent!
All staff at lax and San Jose were very helpful with any questions we had or check in baggage for free or upgraded us to First / premium class / option to get an earlier flight if we wanted to because flight was full of original flight. Alaska airline app was very help as well. The boarding / changes were updated and notified us in real time
When you book a fleight' you will have the option to request a wheelchair. You can always go to the airline company website and choose all available options including meals, wheelchairs, and even choose your seating for the fleight. All you need to get to the page is your itinerary number.
Just tell the attending representative at Check-in. Also check while booking the ticket if you are getting an option to pre-arrange the assistance.
