Only Sarah Winchester died in the house. She married somewhere back east, hee only daughter died weeks after being born, and her husband died soon after that, she was distraught and sought out the help of a physic of some sort who told her the ghosts of all the people who had died from the Winchester gun were who had killed her husband and daughter and she needed to move far away, and start building a house that work would never cease I'm, as the sound of hammers and saws would keep the ghosts away that meant her harm. So she bought an old farm house in California and work continued on it day and night until she passed away some 30 years later, in the house. But as far as anyone knows she is the only person to have died in the house. People do see the ghost of at least one of her former employees on the property, it is said you can see him pushing a wheelbarrow around the property.

No one died in the mansion except Mrs. Winchester...of old age. They say she believed she was haunted by the spirits of those killed using winchester rifles.
