I love them! The staff is always so friendly and helpful whenever I've found wildlife that need assistance or stray pets in the past. They're very busy and have a huge amount of animals but are still going full steam to help. Great people here 💖

Of the many volunteers/employees for the intake, I found only a couple that I feel possess the skills of compassion and humanity all the time. You already know who you are… if you can’t be courteous to the human surrendering or asking for T&R, how do you instill their confidence in the level of services provided for the already neglected soul that they brought in??? Overall, you are still performing a great duty and maybe you’re overworked and stressed having to work with so many troubled helpless living beings so none the less wish I could give you more stars. Keep up the good work!!!

We adopted our husky/German shepherd mix here. My parents also adopted their Manchester terrier here. They are abused before they came to the shelter. The husky had a neck scar. The terrier had the end of the tail clipped. They are great pets. They are innocent. They are loyal. They gave us so much comfort, and joy. They deserve another chance.

Please volunteer here. They have so few staff that they are having to kill animals. Please help any way you can. Adopting animals from this shelter literally saves lives. When they don't have fosters to bottlefeed kittens, they have to kill them. They are so full they can't take in animals. They are killing record numbers of dogs and cats. They are under funded, under staffed and struggling. Please donate, foster, volunteer, adopt and write the Governor and City Council to request more funds for this shelter so they can stop killing animals.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
A Special place, where you have an opportunity to check out the information, responsibilities ,of having a "Real Buddy or helper for life." Yes!!!, thank you , "Lord".,💛💜💙💚💖❣💌💓💚🎈🎁❣👣
Yes they do. There are bins at the front door to donate stuff
Shelter on Monterey
Yes, that is correct. Web tells all. I believe that you must be 18 or over, OR be with an adult if you are 11 years or older. All that information to is on the website. Good luck!
If the medical staff feels they can be cured they will do so.
I'm sure you've considered this, but the dogs will definitely be very very heartbroken :( Going from a home environment to shelter will be tough for them, so this is a request to please consider your options well.
Depending on the availability, you would want to go there and look for young dogs available for adoption.
Absolutely! The whole idea of the Humane Society is to get people to come and adopt the animals that are there that have been hurt, abandoned, or surrendered due to circumstances beyond their owners control. I am quite sure both you and your son will have a great time, and who knows what might happen? 🇺🇸🇺🇸🤠🐧🐾🐾🤘🤙🙏🙏🙌🙌
There probably is you have to call to find out
Yes they will and they also have a section where they give out stuff for free.
Yes, the shelter will take these.
If someone can catch him they can take him to the shelter.. You can check their website to see if he has been turned in.
Donations always needed.
Yes
I believe that the fees are listed on the website. But more importantly, be prepared for the total cost. There will be times that vet fees will be much greater than the adoption fees. But saving a soul and getting a great dog is priceless! Good luck!
What do you need help with food medical help they have free food available at the shelter it is best to call them they have all sorts of information available for all sorts of programs to keep you and your pet together
Just fyi, though, I believe the free checkup is supposed to be used within the first week of ownership. Read the flyer to find out more about the offer. In this case, I think your kitten should be okay.
Need to contact them
Yes they have a clinic once a month for low income people, it's on the last Saturday of every month. You'll want to go down there the night before and sign up but you can get your kiffen shots and checked out chipped and everything. They also give away all kinds of food and things you will need.
Your spirit is excellent. Good news, if a parent or guardian is willing to complete the training program, then you can volunteer along with them. If not, then you have to wait until your 18. But on its website, there is a link on how you can help animals in your community before you are 18. Such examples include foster homes, collect donations, making toys for dogs, etc. Good luck!
Any dog over thirty pounds is a ten dollar adoption fee right now!
Yes, but first whoever is over 18 has to complete a class showing them everything they can do and what to expect
In answer to your question regarding vaccines, the shelter at 2750 Monterey Hwy has a clinic once a month. The next one is on the 23rd of Feb, and they gave my dog all her shots, dewormed her, and gave her a thorough check up. And then, they gave us dog food, treats, and some swanky new gear. Everyone there was sooo helpful!!! 5 stars, for sure!!! 🇺🇸⚓🤘🤙🐾🐾
Yes they do. Blankets food and litter
They take in animals from the street, but I believe you must bring them. If you can't bring the animal to them, please call animal control.
The shelter does take deceased animals. There is a nominal disposal fee.
The adoption animals do have all of their shots. If you are looking to get shots for your dog, they do not do that. On the first Saturday of the month there's a mobile clinic from 9 to 11. That's the only time you can get shots done at the shelter.
They do.. Go to the website and fill out the form
No delivery. They run different specials. Now they've $10 adoption for pets who have been at the shelter over 2 weeks. The fee includes spay/neuter, shots, microchip, & 1 year license. I adopted the most adorable 6 week old orange & white tuxedo tabby in 10'17.
The website is updated every hour on the hour. Some of the rabbits are not in the lobby pens so the website may offer more options. Write down the animal ID (7-digit number)and inquire about the animal at the front desk.
There are dogs. Of different breeds and sizes in addition to other types of animals is a good place to adopt an animal that deserves love and a home I have 2 a poodle and a chihuahua and I adore them I recommend it
Adoptions fees for all dogs waived this month. #cleartheshelters
Yes
Right now they have quite a few rabbits and some guinea pigs!
I rescued a stray last Saturday, and they wouldn't take him because they were at capacity. So I took him to MedVet in Campbell because they're affiliated with a rescue shelter. You may just have to call around. Or put up an ad at local vets and pet stores saying you have some kittens you need to find homes for.
I went there yesterday (7/9/22) because I was told I could get a cat trap ($75 rental fee, CASH, for one week--refundable when you return the trap) to rescue a stray. When the woman asked if I planned to bring the cat in, I said yes, and she said they weren't accepting strays unless they were sick or wounded. She advised me just to feed the cat but leave it out on the streets. So my neighbor and I caught the little guy, and I phoned MedVet, a 24-hour emergency pet hospital. The one in Campbell took the kitten because they're affiliated with a stray rescue organization. However, you will NOT find anyone willing to come rescue the cat/kittens for you UNLESS they're sick or injured. Apparently, rescuing healthy strays is not a priority of rescue organizations anymore. That task falls on YOUR shoulders.
Do you think I could volunteer being 12 years old?
I'm sorry but you are part of the problem. Separate your guinea pigs and STOP allowing them to breed. What is wrong with you? Few people adopt them because they can get them at pet stores. You are making the over population problem worse. Over population is the number one killer of pets in the USA. More animals are killed at shelters every year than are killed by ALL OTHER CAUSES COMBINED. Every time you breed them, a corresponding number are killed in shelters. Be responsibe, animals are not disposable.
Shouldn't be a problem if you can verify the dog is yours.
So sorry to hear that you should try no kill shelters
I like to brown a pound of fatty hamburger. Then add water boil and add rice. Excellent for dogs 🐕 with problems.
Yes. If your dog is licensed in San Jose euthanasia is free. Donations welcomed
I think a child has to be 12 to volunteer with an adult. You'll have to contact them to verify
Depending on vaccination status and where you live, it looks like current pricing is $40 for residents of San Jose, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Milpitas, and Saratoga. Non resident pricing is $80. Spay cost is $50/$90. Fees may change.
You call the center and they will answer any questions you have. They are very professional and they make any process less complicated to us that have very little knowledge of how to adopt surrender or just get vet care or what the animal we have needs to stay healthy. Please give the animal shelters near you a call. You will feel much better then letting the animal out on their own. Best wishes hope I helped you.
How strange. Yesterday we went to ask about sterilization and they told us otherwise. I don't know why they put up shelters when I feel that it's not like that. The little animals are alone.
I'm not sure? I have 2 cats & lion head rabbit..but you know I wouldn't see why not..give them a call or call around for reasonable rates..good luck on with ur lil one.
Look under services then spay neuter. Then click the schedule button. Prices for certain zip codes are very low.
Yes you can. Sorry to hear that but that's the most humane thing you can do. The shelter will take them..
Yes you can!
Yes
I don't. Just kittens.
Not sure. I haven't been there for a while. When they open to the public I hope you get your answer.
Yes, check website for more information
Yes you can .
The should have called when they scanned for chip and call you but sometimes there shady. Case my husky got out I saw him on the list oh no I said went down there and said I wanna see him I said he is chipped they said no they scanned f* that scan him again and oh they found it smh. That was my experience with them but you can take a tour to see lost kitties.
Wouldn't that be irresponsible and unethical for them, or any shelter, to do that?
Yes they do
You have scheduled an appointment. Go on the website to do that.
Is it a registered petagree? If not, you can just give them to the new person... do you know them well? Do you trust they'll love and take care of the cat?
Yes they do, but I'm not sure at this time (covid-19) that they're allowing it.
You'll have to go talk to someone at their pet surrender department (the door to the left of the main entrance). Going in person is your best bet since they might not be answering phone calls atm.
Yes. Most vet offices can also scan for a microchip
I found a kitten on the website filled out the questions. Recieved an email saying it might take 5 to 7 days to respond. It said don't wait come down. Went down and was told it doesn't work that way. Showed the email....no kitty for me. Never again.
They are open. The message on their phone is deceiving. They are not allowing anyone in so you have to wait outside. Licensing is done on line, you can donate food outside and for turning in strays it is by appointment. Hope this helps
Yes. You can take them to the surrender desk, which is the door to the left of the main entrance. Thank you!
Yes, you can take your deceased dog there for this. When you go, you'll want to go to surrender door, left side of main entrance.
There's no limit 🙃
Go to their website
Usually they ask minimum$20 surrender fee.
Call the Animal shelter
Take him to aborn Pet Clinic. White Rd and aborn. Sometimes Dr Singh doesn't charge for an office visit.walk-ins ok
Yes,7am to 5 pm Not sure about closing time.
They are excepting kittens, lost animal's or sick or injured animals. You have to go to the door to the left of the main doors. There is q doorbell that you push and the staff will come out.
Yes
Right away
You would need to set up an appointment after selecting the dog(s) you would like to see. Go to the website and browse the available pets. Then send an email to the address listed with the numbers of the pets you're interested in. They will call you after that to tell you more about the pet and set up an appointment. It's very easy and the staff are great.
You should always prioritize the health of your pet. You can call them and see if they can refer you to an inexpensive vet. But do be prepared to pay. This is a good time to use your credit card. Good luck.
You need to call them.
Yes, you can take your puppy to ye.
Yes, they do and I believe they are designated as 503-C
If you are getting a dog for the whole family, then it really is a good idea to make sure its personality is compatible. Adopting a forever home dog is not an overnight sensation. Take your time. There will be plenty of good dogs to choose from.
Call the shelter they will tell you what proof if any you might need I'm sure they are more than willing to help you get your daughters dog back to his family it's just as traumatic on the dog as it is your daughter I wish you all the best of luck and you will be in my prayers
I believe the animal shelter will take him. They have animals they put up for adoption.
Yes, there is a surrender office by the front door.
Im not sure about kitten costs but when i adopted my senior dog is was about 40$ & i walked out with her the same day :) very quick process
He doesn't have his collar would they still have him
There is no fee to surrender, I believe.
Opens at 11:00 AM. Closed on Mondays. Best to call first. Good luck!
If you live in these areas: Residents* San Jose, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Milpitas, Saratoga then it's $15 for males and $20 for females. For nonresidents, it's $65 / $75. Your cat must be in excellent health and vaccinated. Vaccinations are available at the clinic. Extra fee if your cat is pregnant. See the website. Good luck!
The shelter sometimes has free adoption days, but most of the time there are adoption fees. Please see the fees on the website. No they do not have free vet services.
It's a city shelter. Part of a government entity. Neither nonprofit or for profit.
Did you talk to a live person? My experience is that they are responsive. Maybe there's a dog rescue group that you can contact now. At least if you can safely do so give the dog some water and a little food (maybe a neighbor has some dog food available). Also post a picture on the app Nextdoor. Some good neighbor should be able to bring the poor dog in to start its way to finding its forever home. Good luck!
Hi this is Miriam I lost my dog today when I came back from work,my husband didn't found her name is sky
There is no such thing as a no kill shelter. San Jose is a very good shelter that has achieved a 91% live release rate. Meaning 91% of the animals coming through the door have left alive where it was through adoptions, rescues pulling them, TNR or Working cat program. This is a county shelter that has to take in any animal in its district. They do an amazing job and try to save as many animals as they can.
No they do not do those kind of adoptions. What you might want to do is look into fostering. It is a way to save lives.
Nearly no kill. Wounded animals and sometimes unwanted cats and rabbits go before their time. The Shelter does make every effort to give the little one a very good chance at getting a forever home.
I am assuming that you would bring the stray kittens and surrender them for adoption? If yes, then there certainly no fees for doing the right thing. Bless you for saving little lives and helping them find their forever homes.
You need to check the website, frequently. Instead of getting a pure bred, better to be in pursuit of a great dog. Partial Alaskan Malamute would have better health and less issues. There's plenty of dogs needing a forever home. Just come down and open your heart. See the potential. A great companion is just waiting for you. Good luck!
It would appear that the cat is no longer a stray cat if someone is caring for it. Licenses are not expensive and it's in everyone's best interest if the cat is vacinated and fixed. Good luck!
Is this what you mean? WHAT do I need to be eligible to adopt a dog? You need to be a responsible adult who will unconditionally love AND care for your dog. You will need to live in a place that accepts dogs and be able to give your dog walks and outdoor privileges as needed. You must be willing to study and learn how to care for dogs and train dogs. You must have a lot of patience and understanding. It is like having a small child that always needs care. Most importantly is to know that giving a dog a forever home is a forever obligation. The fact that you asked is a good sign that you are at least near ready to share your life with a canine companion. Good luck!
Yes, there's a place near the entrance to accept used items. Thanks for considering to help the shelter and rescued animals. Good luck!
There's a process. First, the shelter will make every effort to identify and then reunite the dog with its human. If there's no immediate human owner, the dog is examined and treated for any medical issue. Then the dog is assessed for human compatibility and if further socializing is needed as well as compatibility with other dogs. If fast tracked, then the dog could be ready for adoption in two or three weeks. Otherwise, it could take up to a couple of months. Hope that this helps.
Hire a good attorney. And counter sue. Write down and document your evidence. Good luck.
Residents of SJ, Cupertino, LG, Milpitas, Saratoga, 15.00 Male, 20.00 female. But check for requirements, such as age and health condition. They also have cheap vaccination for cats getting neutered. 408 794 PAWS/7297 is contact number. Lucky for dog owners, FREE in most areas.
When you take on a soul into your life it is important that you provide for the little guy. Red eyes could range from allergies to glaucoma, which can lead to blindness. Cut out eating out, alcohol, movies, etc. You will be able to find the money. Most importantly, you can make your pet have a basic quality of life and you can live with yourself. To find a quality low-cost vet, ask caregivers at a dog adoption fair. They know which vets are both good and reasonable. Good luck. Your little guy is depending on you.
Yes. Best if you was them first. There is a place to leave donations. On the right side of the entrance. Thanks for supporting the shelter!
Definitely call or visit the shelter tomorrow, the hours are 11-5. Or call.
Yes
Yup
Don't be so quick to judge Doug. Euthanasia is never pleasant for the pet or the owner, but is sometimes the best answer to prevent suffering.
A simple phone call gives you all the latest and hopefully correct info.
I'm not quit sure u can call them tho not long waits
The City usually sends out a reminder notice through snail mail. That fee sounds correct from last year. In addition to calling, you can check its website. Good luck! Just checked the website. If your dog is fixed and you have a proof of rabies vaccination, then the fee is $25.00. Best to call just to make sure. Good luck!
Take your dog to Milpitas HSSV, they are a No-Kill facility. But you might need to make an appt. to do this. I'm not sure. And what Doug said, as well. 😢
Yes, they humanely euthanize animals that can't be rescued.
That makes your animal a service animal with that letter your allowed to have a dog and your landlord could be sued if they try and keep you from having it cause I have one as a well . Take the letter to animal shelter it helps you alot.
Yes. Feral/strays are returned to location where they were trapped, after surgery. Usually 3-5 days after trapping. Sometimes the cat will show up right away, where it's used to being fed. Other times, it might take a wk +, as happened to a woman I know. When I, personally, released 'her' cat, it made an initial appearance (briefly) the next day, then she didn't see it for 8-9 more days. But the cat is now regular again. Just like before. All's right with her world again & no more babies to worry about in the future either. 🤗
No not that I know of besides if it is a stray cat they usually will keep them to adopt out unless the person request they want them back.
No, unfortunately, they're not. Although they're doing a pretty good job, sadly, they're not there yet. HSSV in Milpitas is a no-kill facility.
I agree, this cat seems to have adopted you so take her back if you're going to do it and do it right. Make sure she's chipped and spayed and all that good stuff, and they will help you there. My dog received 5 STAR veterinary care at this facility. ONE SATISFIED CUSTOMER PHIL MARSHALL & SASHA
You need to call them but, what I remember is you have to bring it in.
Yes, especially for kittens. Dogs and rabbits too. Do a search for 'FOSTER' on its website. It comes right up. Good luck!
Take them to the shelter they can help
After spaing someone told me they release the snimal in the area it came from. Not verified.
I'm assuming that your question is how long do they keep a found dog before they allow it to be put up for adoption? I don't know the exact cut off. If the animal is microchipped, then they will give ample time to needed to reunite the pet with its humans. The Center will only allow an animal to be adopted once it is healthy and social enough to be with humans. The fastest route is about two weeks. But I would check with the Center.
They will treat the dogs that are there for adoption if they need medicine & care, but for more extensive or longer term treatment, they will have a rescue group take possession of the dog and handle it. They do not just accept walk-ins like a vet clinoc
Call them
Mike, This is a horrible thing that u are considering doing ur "best buddy"! Period. You're worried that the move will be too "stressful" for her...Whaat?! Are u friggin kidding me?! What do u think it's going to do to her when u drop out of her life & disappear out of the clear blue, NEVER. TO. RETURN. AGAIN??? The one person who her entire world revolves around??? The one person that the sun rises and sets for??? How stressful do u think this will be for her?? My cat is the exact same age & nobody & nothing could EVER make me get rid of him! Any of my pets. E.V.E.R.!!! Who/whatever ur moving to Tenn for, is not right for you! If ur being forced to choose between them or ur "best buddy Pebbles", then what's in ur best interest & ur overall well being (just like Pebbles), obviously doesn't matter & isn't important. Please watch the Richard Gere movie, Hachi: A Dog's Tale (true story) before u kick ur "best buddy" to the curb, break her heart & leave her FOREVER waiting for u to return!
Why don't you call them?
Hi...I dont work there. Go to their website, perhaps there is additional information there. Milpitas conducts free neutering and sprays for Chihuahuas. Good luck!
I believe that the Center has a 24/7 animal surrender service. Of course, it would be best to surrender your cat during business hours so that a helpful volunteer can get the needed information about your cat so it can find its forever home as fast as possible. Good luck!
There used to be a pick up service. Best to call. Would probably happen tomorrow if this service is still offered. The shelter has a 24/7 drop off at its location. Good luck! Thanks for rescuing a little soul.
You would have to call them to find out I can't help you there
I would check. I know that some cat rescue do if they do not. Good luck!
I think that they do accept pet surrenders for guinea pigs. Best to call first.
Call and find out
I believe anytime but I think you might wanna check website
Depending on your zip code, the Humane Society has a free spay / neuter program. http://www.hssv.org/what-we-do/medical-services/spay-neuter/free-spay-neuter.html
That should work out, but go talk to them face to face first to make sure that they have room for your little guy. Also make sure that the shelter will guarantee a no kill commitment with your bunny. If they cannot commit to that, then look into an alternative place to surrender your little guy. Just searching for: No kill shelter San Jose "bunny" revealed many organizations such a Rabbit Haven, South Bay Rabbit Rescue, etc. Good luck!
I don't believe they neuter/spay guinea pigs. Best to get two of the same sex.
Yes, Yorkies are very cute and loyal little dogs. From time to time, the Shelter has one available for adoption. They go quickly. You might consider getting a Yorkie mix. You still get a great dog and a healthier dog too, which will save you serious money with vet bills. If you have your heart set for a Yorkie/mix, then you might try contacting the other dog rescue agencies. Good luck!
Yes you will have forms to fill out, this is an adoption. However the best thing to do: bring your brother with you so he can pick out the dog he likes
Yes
My understanding is that it is mostly no kill. Dogs, almost never. Cats usually get adopted. Bunnies sometimes. They try real hard NOT to put to sleep. Best to go there and ask directly to know EXACTLY what it practices and its policy. Good luck!
Yes, you can sign up at sanjoseanimals.com and you will hear back with training information.
$15 for males. $20 for females if resident of Santa Clara County.
http://www.sanjoseanimals.com/index.aspx?NID=2437
Nit understanding your question. As to put him down? I hope not. Technicality, you can do that there, but as a responsible and caring oet owner, you should make your pet's sunset time comfortable and caring. My old boy (dog) sports a doggie sweater because his hair won't grow back. I got him a heated bed because he became skinny and has no body fat to keep him warm, and I now make him wear doggie diapers for when he just can't help himself. You should do the same.
Yes the shelter takes guinea pigs.
Yes, with a parent. The parent would take the volunteer training and then bring their child to volunteer. This program is for ages 11 and up.
There is no program like this at the shelter, unless you want to volunteer on an ongoing basis, in which case you can go on the website and apply.
You would need to take your puppy to a vet. The shelter does not have vet services.
Try going to found.org/start. You will need the chip number. The shelter or any vet can scan the cat for you to get that.
The shelter will attempt to work with you. It depends on many factors but it never hurts to ask.
If you come on the first Saturday, come early and expect to wait a while. It's cheap but comes with a long line!
I'm not aware of the specifics of your case but animals come in throughout the day and night every day of the week. You never know when they came in.
I'm not sure, I know that they offer free vet services & shots the last Saturday of each month through an organization called, "Vets for Healthy Pets"
No he does not have to have them finished before spay/neuter. If he has had his rabies vaccine, bring proof of that with you.
No, but prior to surgery they are given a pain killer that lasts 24 hours. By then they should be feeling better.
Yes there are bunnies and they are $20.
You have to go in and talk to someone to get an estimate.
They're hiring for animal care attendants right now but you have to be 18+. You can volunteer but you have to come with an adult and register online first.
It's not free at the shelter but it's low cost. $15 for neuter or $20 for spay. You can go online to request an appointment.
You have to get a voucher for free spay and neutering. Call san Jose animal care center, leave a message on the message center with all your information as well as mailing address. And you shall receive a spay- neuter vouchers in which will tell you the drop off times. I had a few cats neutered and I dropped off before work and picked up the next day after work
Does the mobile clinic do lab work?
They had a lot of small dogs there when I was there.
They are not a vet clinic. They do not treat sick animals unless they are stray or surrendered.
The only time that there are vaccines available is the first Saturday of the month 9-11am when the mobile clinic is there.
How old do you have to be to volunteer without a parent?
Take the dog to the surrender door at the shelter. The hours are 7am-9pm. There will be a fee to surrender.
You will need to check the website at sanjoseanimals.com.
There are no vaccines or vet services available. There is a low cost vaccine clinic on the first Saturday of the month 9-11am.
First Saturday of the month 9-11.
I hope you took the kitten to the vet to see if they could determine the cause of death.
As I remember the prices start from 50$ per kitten, and depends on the color and breed can go higher like 200$.
18 or 11 - 17 with an adult volunteer
As long as the cats have been captured and fixed (they'll have a notch in one ear) it's the best for population control. They're actually great for keeping the rodent population down. If the cats are not fixed ask the neighbor to borrow a trap from the shelter to capture them safely and bring them in to the shelter.
Their website has plenty of info too. If my memory serves me correctly then cats were maybe 40 bucks.
It is a place where you take care of abandoned animals and if you want to adopt one there you can do it and choose the one you want
Do not know. Call them or go online.
There are no vet services at the shelter. There is a mobile vaccine clinic on the first Saturday every month 9-11. You would need to provide your own muzzle.
Surrender/stray door is open 7am-9pm. The shelter is actually no kill, 92% save rate. Any animal that is up for adoption stays until it is adopted.
Call your nearest animal human society they are very good at answering any questions you may have.
I believe county of Santa Clara. The question is not quite clear.
Not usually but sometimes they just stop working. If you know your pet has a chip and no reader can find it go to your vet and talk to them about maybe chipping the pet again. My cat that passed away had 2 chips when I got her from a rescue. Only 1 chip was active. We could see both chips in her xrays. Talk to your vet.
Animal Control will come pick him up. Unfortunately it usually takes a while for them to get to you and unless their policy has changed you have to have him confined to a carrier, trap, or a room in your home so they know where he's at.... i think though that if you trap him, or bring him in a carrier, you can surrender him. I'm not a 100 on that part though.... good luck
The dumps in your area.
It sounds like you may have 2 cats now but that's not a bad thing we adopted 2 so they have compainship we we aren't home or gone for the weekend, our cat sitter pops in and checks on them but they have each other if they are getting on. The cat might be chipped you gold take it in as see
If you can but you will pay a little money I don't know how much but if you can
Yes you can
You can call and talk to San Jose shelter, Silicon Valley humane Society or contact a rescue that might be able to take him. Try contacting Jake's Wish, Silicon valley pet project and Every Pets Dream all these shelters and rescues are great and do everything they can to help. Wish you good luck and happy forever home for your furbaby. God bless
They normaly have veterinarians there to give your pet the shot but this year they didn't because the dog flu went around and took a great impact. I personally don't know the price of the shots, nor have they told me. They have been sending people to other pet clinics because of the dog flu. I hope I answered your question. Good luck!
Yes expensive
I have two cats sadly I can't take care of them due to my financial problems. Can they look after my cats for 5 months till I get job. I will take them back.
We paid 10.00 for our boy , he came with all of his shots a starter kit for home and he was chipped he was 4 months old he is now 7 years and has always been healthy .
It takes a few days (3-5) for them to update their website with new animals they've taken in. You should go there first if you don't want to wait.
I don't know, but you can call and get an estimate, and they have senior discounts too.
I’m a native Californian. I had a rescue in San Jose in 2004. I’m glad to see that the shelters are getting better, even though they have a ways to go. Although I haven’t lived in California since 2006, I still deal with this particular shelter on occasion. I was not impressed the last time I dealt with them. A tiny dog had gotten hit by a car and was turned in to them. I got a local rescue to pull her. I flew here to check to make sure she didn’t fall through the cracks and end up killed. They brought her to me caked in dried blood, and they warned me she was vicious. They stepped out of the cage very quickly, as soon as I opened the crate. The poor thing was in pain and weighed less than 3lbs. For someone who works in a shelter to be afraid of a 3lbs dog just baffled me. It had been two days and the doctor hadn’t even looked at her. No pain meds were given. I was very upset, took her out and gave her to a foster mom. Nothing too major wrong and she got adopted very quick.
Maybe take it to a pet store. Or place an ad on Craigslist.
Fill out a form online. Wait for an appointment date in the mail. Drop off your fur babies early morning of the appointed day and pick them up in the evening. Drop-in's are welcome for TNR. They'll notch the stray cat's ear and drop him/her off in the neighborhood s/he comes from.
Sell them
Yes
No that's handled by the Wildlife Center. That's in North San Jose. I would Google it.
Im not sure
Yes
Try to grab it and take it to shelter nearby is the most sensible
Yes, you can do a walkthrough at the shelter to see if you can be reunited with your dog. Also, if your dog is microchipped, then they will scan and use the information associated with the chip to contact you. The animal will be placed on a hold if it has a microchip.
From my experience trying to get my cat neutered that I found on the street I would recommend getting the normal vet right now they've got a 6 week wait and thousands the people in front of you to get cats neutered so I can only assume their other services are backed up to.
Please call them or check their website
Did you lose your pet named Memo? Check their website every day under lost animals.
This shelter does not adopt out birds. You could try Mickaboo bird rescue or the Peninsula Humane Society.
Check listing DAILY. Settle for a corgi mix. Might take weeks or months before one comes in. One of my rescue dogs is a corgi mix. Check with other rescue groups if you must have a corgi/mix.
Bring her to the shelter. Intake hours are 7am to 9pm seven days a week.
Look on line or go down and look
Depending on your zip code they will fix them for free and do other things for free like micro chipping and vaccinations. They will fix feral cats for free.
Check their website. They have different breeds all the time.
They usually don't have that many puppys but a lot of small dogs are there, and if I'm correct they are having a holiday sale for $20 on cats and dogs.
Yes you can just have to keep looking On Line And It's Good To Go Do A Walk Through Also I Got My Adult Dog For 20.00 this past June
Yep already called them thank you!
Check their website for services, i believe they offer puppy shots.
When you surrendered your dog you should have received a number, A xxxxxxx unique number assigned to every incoming animal. Call them with that number. Also, when you surrender you relinquish rights to your pet. Check their website for lost-found dogs to see if your dog is there.
Yes you can take birds
Seven days a week you can go to the shelter, 7am - 9pm, to surrender your dog. The cost varies depending on whether it's licensed.
Yes report it to the human society/animal shelter. They have ppl trained for that kind of stuff
Go to san jose animal services site, look under lost/found dogs, go to last page, check dogs that were brought in today. Also file lost pet report with the shelter and with microchip company if applicable.
Yes, you can
If the dog is healthy, I believe it will be neutered and vaccinated and become available for adoption either at the shelter or in one of the local rescues who take dogs from the shelter.
Pets are taken into the shelter under animal services care. Call or go to the shelter for questions about reclaiming.
If the dog is eligible for a hold, it has to be done in person and you have to meet the dog first.
Check cat resource center FB page.
What do you mean - sell? You can adopt one from the shelter. Animals are up for adoption.
