In the Richmond district at Vista point
There are a few locations you can view the Golden Gate Bridge from Golden Gate Park, although most are not "classic views". 1. Hamon Tower Observation at DeYoung Museum. Tower is free to the public and if it's not foggy, you can see the Golden Gate Bridge a bit above the treeline. 2. North edge trails of park along Fulton St. I've seen the bridge here near 25th Ave and Crossover Drive. 3. Strawberry Hill. You may be able to see the bridge from this hill, in the middle of Stow Lake, but I haven't been back in a long time.
Not from Golden Gate Park. Crissy Field has a great view, and the (easy) trail that starts at Land's End has some lovely views too. Also, re: Brian's comment, I think he means Fort Point, which is right underneath the Bridge (Fort Bragg is a couple hours north).
Go to fort Bragg for a view of the golden gate bridge
