I do not understand why they say it is so good for disabled and elderly people to have a therapy animal and do not tell you about all the vet bills. My dog almost died. It took my whole monthly check to save him

Vet bills can be expensive, we hear you. Unfortunately we can't guarantee the health of our animals after their adoption. We wish we could, but we cannot predict the future.

They said they had no funds

I'm so sorry. I'm disabled also. Did you ask the Shelter to help with the vet costs?? I volunteer at a different one. We generally do help elderly/disabled people with things like that
