Why is it called a no kill shelter if they do kill.

Because they only put animals down as a very last resort they do everything they can to provide medical care and find homes for them

You should ask. I'm sure it is a reasons of safety or health. Does the animal pose a threat to people or is the animals age or health very poor. But ask they will give you a honest answer.
