If you're unlucky ou might spend about 10 mins to look for a parking. Like the others said, it's hard but you always get it. And it's free.

You don't have to pay for parking. it is not hard to find during the week, but weekends are difficult and busy, be patient.
Parking is free but the closer you get to the main drag/ where more shops and restauraunts are it gets nearly impossible to find parking. I suggest parking farther down near fishing docks .. on the southern end
I usually park at Don Armeni boat launch (during the day and early evening)and walk the concrete path to alki beach.
You must consider residents also park mostly on streets. No cost, difficult to find a spot. Just takes a little patience and walking. But worth it.
