Matthews Beach Park seemed more relaxed than some other parks in Seattle. Tall trees on a gentle hill shade a few paths that lead to secluded picnic tables and a playground. A lengthy intracity trail goes through also. Most come for the beach on Lake Washington in summer (or for winter polar bear swims). There are beautiful views on the shoreline as well. Parking can be limited on busy days, but I managed to find a slot.

Clean and uncrowded along the lake. A nice kids play area but watch your step by the beach there is lots of goose poo.

I went there on 25th of December and 26th December. One without snow and one with snow. The park is big. Nice place to visit.

This is a lovely beach park to go with little ones. There's a small beach area with water access, large grassy plains for beach blankets (although also lots of geese poop!), a playground and sandpit. There's also a small basketball court and a paved path that loops around the park. It gets really crowded on nice days on the weekends though!

The beach is part of the sound so the farther you go out into the water, you'll be okay. As far as the beach or shore, I don't recommend fishing because there are swimmers in all the areas, including people on floaties.
Half the parking lot has been closed, so, while parking is available directly at the beach, it is limited.
Unfortunately that is littering because you don't know where they will come down and you cannot clean up after yourself.
I would think the Seattle parks dept might have a way to get that info?
