I cannot think of another park like Gas Works anywhere else. The one-of-a-kind Park combines traditional features like trees, grass, picnic tables with grassy knolls, amazing urban views across Lake Union, and the sci-fi looking remains of a once large gas power generation plant. Even the children's playground has unique devices to climb on. Covered areas and restrooms complete the eclectic Park. I chose to visit early in the day when the main parking lot had but a few cars. Things get busy later in the day and good luck finding a spot for your wheels.

An amazing place in Seattle! - Great spot for sitting on the green field and watching the water (Lake Union) and Seattle skyline - Nice vibe on sunny days - Nice place for doing Yoga - Historical gas machines look authentic and interesting - Very convenient for launching your kayak or paddleboard - Usually there is enough of parking especially on weekdays. Weekends can be very busy (and no parking). Feel free to try parallel streets for parking if you can’t find a spot

A charming and unique place from which you can watch the view of the sea and Seattle. The park houses old gas production facilities and gives it uniqueness. The park has a small hill from which you can see the view. The park has a small playground and public washrooms. There is free parking.

A great park for free visit and you can see the whole downtown Seattle and south lake. There is a small hill in the park and it is a great spot to take pictures! Definitely visit here if you are traveling to Seattle for the first time!

Activities at Gas Works park always vary according to what time of year it is. It"s a popular place for the Peace concerts during summer and a favorite spot to view the July 4th firework show.
Yes they can, though, it is not recommended as there are kayak's and other water vehicle's being operated around the lake. I'd say it's dangerous to swim, but it's not illegal.
Reflections of the sky in the water??
by law nowhere in seattle is a safe drone flying zone, but that never stopped anyone from flying one.
Yes. There will be fireworks there. I think the 4th kicks off seafair its sponsored but Amazon this year. They should have the money for some good fireworks i would think. lol
Maybe for folklife? I'm not sure.
As David indicates... No and No. In addition, the park is to be completely closed from Sunday evening of Labor Day weekend until Tuesday morning after.
Street parking yes, but the parking lot as of yesterday is still not open.
Probably.
I'm not sure there's any way you could figure this out. There's no where that people check in or anything, it's totally open to the public and people come and go all day
Lake union is full of water! Lol naw yea there's water fountains by the bathrooms
Well, technically, it's never closed. There is no gate so if you can find a safe place to park, you can just walk in.
I don't think so, only because it's a park. Check if it's a city or state park and check rules for those.
Nope. In fact, news crew was there when i was to report about it.
