I was just there for a convention and stayed at the Sheraton. It is not connected, but it is right next door. Easy to get to.
When I was there, my relative had a conference in a convention center in the hotel. There was also a convention center just outside the hotel. I'm not sure which you mean. The hotel itself was two towers with a connecting base set of floors and lobby. I remember that I had to go down the elevator in one tower and walk across the lobby and take another elevator to get to the floor with the pool.
I was not connected to a convention but the accommodation was great. Easy access to most of the downtown
