It's pretty muddy in many places on rainy days or after it has rained a day or two before. I usually wear hiking boots.
The playfields are artificial turf, so they don't get muddy. :)
Not so much. Depending on location and time. The park is very beautiful and how fabulous. A lot has been done from the heart. Also the Japanese park.
That would depend on several factors like what part of the botanical gardens are you in and how much has it rained in the week, etc. My advice would be to look up the visitor Center's number and they have one and ask if the park is Muddy on any particular day because they'll know
