Americana! This is a must see of growing art. It is disgusting but kind of cool in a grade school under the bleacher kind of way. I admit I am contradicting myself in this review saying it's cool but disgusting. It reminds me of American teenage kids doing what they do best making a mess so others can clean up after them.

This is a very unique thing to see. It was gross but also cool at the same time. There's a lot of gum stuck to the walls. It was a little hard to find but if you go to the farmer's market sign, across from the fish counter you will see some stairs that go down to an alley. Head to the right when you go down the stairs and you will find it.

An amazingly gross place yet interestingly unmissable on your Seattle Itinerary! It's. Place that definitely needs your contribution on the walls. Go there and there are times you actually can get a Waft of the gum that surrounds you.

It is definitely a sight to see. So many peices of gum. The kids enjoyed adding to the wall. Be sure to wash your hands when you are done. I'm sure there are a few germs around there.

Yes no matter where youre from chew chew chew and stick😁
Wikipedia says the gumwall began its' popularity in the late '90s. And that it was cleaned in Nov. 2015. Removing just over one ton of the artful globulation.
Yes, it Is! Bring your own supply of gum, had sanitizer when your done! Best time in the morning 5:00 am to 5:30 am not much people around. Plus just bring $10.00 for a great cup of Coffee at the corner, Pike Market doesn't open til 10 am.
Originally the gum wall extended only to the right of the matket theater's door..people waiting in line would stick their gum to the wall. It evolved from there to what you see today. Started in the early 90's ....good times!
At one point the Gum Wall was 7" thick in 2015 before it was removed by professionals. It took them 130 hours to remove the gum which resulted in 2350lbs of gum removed.
Yes you can. I saw someone put an (almost) baseball size piece of gum on the wall.. LOL
It smells of bubble gum, and people get too close to the wall sometimes, but it's definitely worth a visit.
Probably not. It's a outside wall of a building, in a alley... With people constantly putting more chewed gum on the wall.
It's a bit of a strange human phenomena. Old ally between old brick buildings where it became a tradition for anybody and everybody to chew gum and stick it on the wall. Fun times to be part of history. 😁
Park at Target. Parking is comped with a $20 purchase
As gross as ever and still there in may 2018.
Pike place market, no directions needed, close your eyes and follow the smell of rotten sockets. Don't get too close or you will become part of the Gum Wall
It’s all mostly dried up pretty well
Established improv theater company, Unexpected Productions, began leasing the building 1991. Soon after, a patron waiting in the ticket line to see Theatresports, a popular competition improv comedy show (still running today), stuck a piece of chewed gum to the wall, topping it with a penny. Others soon followed suit. By the end of 1995, the wall was covered with the coin-topped chewed gum offering. One day, someone in need of money took all the coins, but left the gum. The idea stuck. The wall has been cleaned about 7 times since the 90s. https://unexpectedproductions.org/gumwall/
If you are in Seattle, you are welcome to place your gum.
