Wikipedia says the gumwall began its' popularity in the late '90s. And that it was cleaned in Nov. 2015. Removing just over one ton of the artful globulation.

They say it's annually, but it's closer to every ten months. This year was late September. Next year will be interesting, as I don't foresee them cleaning it in July, so a late September cleaning is likely again.

Visiting today it was being scraaped and pressure washed, and signs said it was an annual cleaning. One section seemed to have all the gum removed, and the cleaning was scheduled for 2 more days. I’m curious if it will all be removed, or only sections each time.
