Very fun place! I loved how there were different sections from rock, hip-hop, history, movies, games, tv-show history props and one scary theme. It had a variety and you could at least finish it in a day if you already had knowledge of music history of the different genres I mentioned. The area is clean and is not far from the Seattle Center Armory Food & Event Hall. We went to get a meal at the food center after this and it was worth it. This music museum is amazing as someone who had taken many music history classes and this was worth it. I wished CA would have this but going here made my day. The pricing is reasonable but once you buy it you can go back in for the whole day anytime before it closes. I also think it would take more than a day to experience this if you don't have much knowledge of music history or other themes. One thing I wished to be open is the Scream Booth and a few other sections. Other than that I loved it! Would recommend! 👍 Rock on! 🤘

As far as I'm concerned this place is a must visit for anyone in the Seattle area. It includes a variety of exhibits that contain some of the most iconic props in film and music history. Everyone can find something to like here, from the indie video game exhibit, to the fantasy film section. It's a clean museum that can easily take over 2 hours to explore.

Really fun place, better than I expect. Has a little bit of everything for everyone. There are rooms dedicated to music, rooms for science-fiction, rooms for horror genre(not for little kids!), rooms for fantasy/fiction, big room of Disney costumes. Very spacious, fun place just to hang out.

So many iconic items, from the Wizard of Oz to Hip Hop. Plan on three hours to see it all. Many local bands are represented, and other exhibits come and go. The Disney costume exhibit is worth the upcharge. Seeing costumes close up is priceless-there’s so much detail you can’t see on screen.

It's toddler-safe and there are lots of stimulating colours and images but the content would probably be fairly boring for young children. If I were you I'd take them to the Pacific Science Center instead
Contact high is part of gen admission. The Villains exhibit is not included in green admission.
You do need a reservation yes. Usually timeslots are open and you can get in if you get tickets in person. I would suggest getting your tickets and reservation online because it's faster.
Should be permanent
They're pretty nice about it. They try to get you in with the closest group that has some space
No marvel, sorry. Still worth a visit if you've never been. Standard exhibits are well worth the entry fee especially if you like indie video games and Nintendo.
I think the museum started originally with jimi hendrix stuff and the sky church was built as a nod. Right now they have a jimi hendrix in Europe exhibition, where they have clothes that he wore on shows, some props, letters that he wrote and overall history of his significance around Europe and the world
Dec 4th... 630p-11p
It may be wise to bring a few extra playthings for the four-year-old, in case they get bored. The SoundLab will be fun for everyone.
Consider the city pass, comes with mopop and many other nearby necessities with choices, at a discounted price
It is not currently on display, but museums have a lot of items in their collections that are not displayed. If you have a legit reason for knowing, the curators can help.
Hey!! so they have a website MoPop.org you can view the schedule for upcoming days out! Enjoy
Yes, it was closed due to covid. Became impossible to keep the surfaces disinfected.
Yes, but you have to pay extra to see it FYI
Yes they have a themed gift shop that is very related to what they have on display at the museum.
Early June - more details to come soon!
Ample street parking and pay lots surround MoPOP and Seattle Center. There is a pay lot next to MoPOP at 5th Avenue N and Harrison Street
Adult $36 at the venue. Cheaper if you buy online. Temporary exhibitions are extra. Several fares available (kids, seniors, military etc) you can also buy bundles online for several venues and save a few bucks)
I only been there once. Sorry but I don't know how long till it closes.
McDonald's on corner
Probably not. But, you can always contact the museum directly.
Yes they have a section dedicated to him
I had actually forgotten so I Googled to find out. It is, as Anthony Thomas said, $23-28. We enjoyed our visit to the Museum of Pop Culture very much. I highly recommend it.
What's with all the hostility? I'm simply asking cause I have two kids and I'm disabled...y'all are mean....oh and yes you can! I went in there the other day and we got in for free! Im glad that I can take my children to the soundlab and we can jam together
It was inspired by the designers love of curves of guitar and motor vehicle
Not that I'm aware of. I believe it's for Seattle Art Museum
No
If you look through the pictures posted in Google maps you should be able to see it
I also used the city pass. 89 dollars to do lots around the city.
Yes.
I was there yesterday and saw no J. Timberlake anything. Think more Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam
You can rent one from Scootaround. They are very affordable
I spent almost a entire day there.
Do bankers like money?
They are open from 10am-5pm.
Thank you for your donation to Mr. Allen! The album is not on display at the museum at this time.
I didnt really seen any. There were Uber, taxi, bus, subways, street cars, rental bikes...most people just walked. Everyone was in great shape because of countless hills. I used a cane and Urber. Next time I'm using the buses around town. Sorry if I coudnt be a better help. Usually I call their City Hall for questions like that. Good luck
4-5 hours. I'd suggest going on a weekday if possible.
Online tickets are $26 (or $34 with Marvel), otherwise it's $28 (or $36 with Marvel) onsite. You can see all of our pricing information on the website: https://www.mopop.org/visit. Hope that helps!
Its about 35 bucks , but buy a city pass for like 85 bucks and you can do everything. Look into it
Tickets are good for 90 days after purchase.
You would pay the general admission ticket price with and additional 8$ for the Marvel exhibit. That will get you into everything except the dome movie exhibit which is an extra 3$.
Since the early 2000s if I recall correctly. Originally named the EMP (the experience music project) but renamed to include exhibits other than music related. Just did the marvel exhibit this past weekend. Really great for anyone that is a Marvel fan. The restaurant and gift shop are available to the public without an entry fee.
No its not even open they have a Marvel exhibit right now though
There is a coat check facility.
I believe the Nirvana exhibit is back open, there was a Bowie exhibit a few weeks ago, lots of movies and music memorabilia. There's horror, sci fi, fantasy exhibits, an indie video games area where you can play and test out small titles on many systems, and an area that sort of rotates exhibits. Before it was the Muppets but now its a pretty cool Marvel exhibit. These typically have their own admission fee beyond the standard museum entrance fees.
It does have Microsoft Passport discount
A lot of museums have special days when the price is lower, have you checked to see if they do that or have any special events coming up that may include discounted entry?
You can print them them take it to the counter and they will scan them and give you a sticker to wear for the day
It's always open, but some of the exhibit hours may change when they are changing them out.
Copied from MoPOP's FAQ's - "Sorry. Pets are not allowed anywhere within the complex. However, service animals are permitted and should be checked in at the information desk in the lower lobby."
Not currently, they rotate exhibits and the space that was the Seattle local music, mainly Nirvana, is now a great David Bowie photos exhibition.
Yes. But limited, most ot it is about the music.
It is all still there they just have more now.
10 to 3 on Christmas Eve. Closed Christmas day
Yes
$20-$30 depending on if you're an adult or a student. Buy online on their website for $2 cheaper
The museum opened in 2000, originally named the Experience Music Project.
Yes you do get a discount here. $8 with your Prime card
It was 28.00 families or elders and students have less but I paid that.
