I believe the Nirvana exhibit is back open, there was a Bowie exhibit a few weeks ago, lots of movies and music memorabilia. There's horror, sci fi, fantasy exhibits, an indie video games area where you can play and test out small titles on many systems, and an area that sort of rotates exhibits. Before it was the Muppets but now its a pretty cool Marvel exhibit. These typically have their own admission fee beyond the standard museum entrance fees.
Check the site for current exhibits as there are new/ featured/ traveling exhibits. As of the 1st week of April, there was horror, Jimi Hendrix, sci - fi, fantasy, etc.
I just visited yesterday. General fantasy, horrror (didn't view it), general sci fi, video games of sorts to try, a smaller version of the previous Nirvana exhibit, Jimmy Hendrix exhibit, Mavel special exhibit (extra fee), and a holodome experience (didn't view it; extra fee; just opened this past weekend so buy tix early).
Science, music, sound lab, scifi films, horror films, and an indie video game section. They sometimes certain limited time exhibits like the Muppets, Marvel Comics, and many more.
You can check their website for current exhibits. Each exhibit has memorabilia, videos, songs, and/or placards with information like any other museum. When I went they had exhibits for Hendrix, Bowie, and Jim Henson as well as 4 related to movie genres (I think horror, Sci Fi, fantasy, and Star Trek)
There are several sections. It's music, science, and horror film
