St. Augustine is the oldest city in the US. There is an old fort along with many other attractions to explore. The beaches are beautiful.

There is an alligator farm not far away. St Augustine beach is very nice with a splash pad for kids.
The ripleys believe it or not studios the old castle and the city it self its history and old war base and old guns plus transportations.
No true beaches within walking distance of the Holiday Inn. But the city of Saint Augustine has a lot of historical buildings as well as the fort. Plenty of places to eat as well.
