They are correct, its to allow time for yearly maintenance. Besides for general safety, Each property owner has lcra requirements to maintain!
Wanda is correct. The LCRA is pretty good at minding lake Levels. Lake Travis will generally catch the brunt, during inclement level patterns. Apart from maintenance, at Inks Lake, they change levels when we need more or less water in Lake Buchanan or Lake Travis and, ergo, Lake Austin.
Ask the ranger there.
