Loved it wasn't the best I've ever been too but it was definitely worth seeing. I would recommend that if you're in the area and got an hour and a half to take the tour to go for it. It's a little over a mile hike but it was an easy mile we had our 11 month old baby and we enjoyed it as well did she. Very interesting history behind the cavern itself, so if you're into the history and back story to the caves existence and use throughout history the guide was very informative and likeable...spend the money and enjoy the leisurely stroll...

Guided tour was fun and informative. Love going to all the caves I can and I highly recommend this one! Temp and time of day are irrelevant as the cave is usually pretty cool. Closed toe shoes are required, but I recommend something with a little ankle support if you are prone to tripping/etc.

Manda was an awesome guide! We had family members that tried to stay with the tour but needed to exit. Manda gracefully and respectfully assisted our members out of the cave then proceeded with the remainder of the tour. Very interesting and beautiful! Great history. Bet the acoustics during the concerts, back in the day, was awesome!

Best adventure for this year. We have been putting it off for quite sometime. Glad we came. Tour guide was the best, she gave us the up and down about the tour. She was very funny too :) The caves are nice to look at. There is much history there. If you are claustrophobic, please don't attempt to do this. Also follow and understand all the instructions before you make reservations. Have fun!!

They did not offer a group photo, we were there in December
Park trails etc are free.. the cave tour is in groups a few times a day and I think costs and might need reservations. There is still a good amount to see without the tour👍
They are small from what I recall the longest trial is 1 mile. It's a nice little walk while your waiting for the tour to start.
Our tours run from 10:00am - 4:00pm on the hour every hour. We do add additional tours according to demand.
Normal business hours tours start at 11 and last tour is at 3 the park opens at 9 and closes at 5
Yes they are open on Sundays. Best to check their website for the most updated hours.
You can stay at Inks Lake State Park which is around 6 miles away. It has camping and cabins. There is not anything right at Longhorn Caverns.
There is a Senior Discount. I think it's $16, a person. My grandkids came with us, they are 5 year olds. It was like $8, for each of them
Yes we are open every day other tmhan Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Our park hours are 9am to 5pm
Only if it doesn't rain too much. When we went, two weeks ago, a couple of caves were closed, due to flooding
No, the caves are not mobility accessible beyond a few hundred feet. Many places are very narrow or short
Probably not, the lights they use are only turned on for a short time to keep molds from growing and ruining the walls of the cave. There are some outdoor cavern areas they might let you use, you would have to call the park office to find out
On the steps you can sit on the steps or railings if you have a handicap or you tire quickly you may want to call ahead and make sure your guide understands. Guides can also accept tips so tip them well for their patience
Cavern is not pet friendly, no kennels on site. Weather is nice enough to have your windows down and the dog in a crate in your car. They have cameras on the outside, but take your valuables with you.
Tours fill up with a maximum of 30 people , but usually have fewer people this time of year .. especially during the week days.
As long as the entrances arent beyond public safety to walk around, yes you can see it even if its raining. You'll just get a little wet going to and from the building and entrance to cavern.
After veterans discount plus tax, $19 and some change. We were there yesterday.
Not at longhorn caverns. Lake is right down the road if you want to go fishing.
I believe you need to reserve it online. Since it is by time slot.
I wish they did, but no..Inks lake is just a few miles down the road, but they only have a few spots open during the week.
The wild cave tour goes through small spaces under tunnels and you may get very muddy and wet. It is from what the guide said longer than 4hours and requires crawling as well.
You have to select a date and time to get ticket pricing, but I think it's $14 for kids, $18 for adults (plus tax)
Yes you can reserve the day of
We didn't go to the wild tour. Sorry couldn't answer to your question.
Yes you can
I'd have to say that it would not be advisable. There are several points within the tour that you will be unevenly weighted and on a mending leg probably not advisable
The tour guide didn't mention any.
Guided tours for the caves but free paths and picnic grounds
Pets are not allowed in caverns but are allowed at outside areas need to be supervised at all times on outside areas of caves.
No ramps all stairs? An yes uneven paths in the cavens
17.50 per person, but you can walk the park and go up in a very old stone tower for free. Well worth the entrance fee.
Visiting the park and grounds is free. Cavern tours are $17.50 for adults, $12.75 for children 3-12. The cave is 68° and humid year round.
It is free to walk about the property. The only thing that has a fee is the cave itself. There are several nice, well marked trails and a observation tower that is a must see. Enjoy!
No age limits, one lady took a stroller inside when we went.
All the web site says, is that it is open on the 4th, 9am-6pm but hours may differ... so, I'm guessing that it is.
You cannot fish in the park as it is against the rules but there is a lake nearby that allows it
Leashed, attended, dogs are allowed in the park and only trained service animals are allowed in the cavern.
Hello Steve, Longhorn Cavern State Park is day use only and while there are parking spots for RVs when you visit the cavern, you must leave at 6 pm when the park closes. Longhorn Cavern State Park
There are uneven surfaces and a few low places depending on which tour you take. I would say they could do it but it depends on how well balanced they are. If they have to have a walker I would say no.
