A few years in prison
Relics should be left untouched and authorities notified. Location and type of relic help unlock the history. I would say, it's value as a part of history may never be realized now.
Less than the fine I would suspect!
1. Some Indian tribes believe in leaving items left by the ancestors alone, untouched. It is a way of showing respect to the past. 2. Federal law prohibits the removal of objects from federal lands. So, return it.
Correct. Turn it in.
Any relic taken from the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument is a federal offense. If you find anything on the ground that looks man-made or of man, turn it in at the Visitor Center or risk going to jail for years. No joke.
Assuming it was given to you and told that it came from the battle area, I would suggest returning it to the memorial.
Instant... JAIL.
Yeah, a federal crime. Not sure on prison time, but at least a hefty fine.
That's illegal.
