I wouldn't advise. That area is known for snakes.
I've swam in the water when I was a kid. It is used for scuba diving certifications, so people do swim in it. However, a strong word of caution many people have drowned in that lake and I believe it is from the very large catfish that pull people under thinking legs are food.

Areas with a boat ramp would be a good choice to check into since ramps are at water level and there may be lake access for swimmers. The water is safe most of the time. Please check with local authorities. There have been algae blooms on occasions at many lakes in Oklahoma, so please check.
