Snake creek park is better for tent camping. State park campsites are fairly far from the water. If you use Hickory flats campground you can get close to the water but a smaller area.
Due to the november 30th tornado the wont be any camping close to the water at snake creek. The marina is totally gone i live above snake creek and its a shame to see so much damage at this beautiful lake
