This park may be small but is mighty! 44 camp sites, quiet, beautiful water, very well marked trails, great golf course, and TWO little lending libraries! We love it here!

Great little park. You can see the lake from many sites and all are close to the lake. Not the most private camp sites so there is a bit of a big happy family feel to the campground. Two trials are enjoyable. Staff always very helpful. Waycross has some good eats and treats.

Beautiful, small State Park! Nice staff! (Thank you Frank!) Awesome dog park. We had site number 8, direct lakefront. Great place to launch my kayak from.

I really enjoy this place. They have bikes and kayaks for rent. Equipment is okishly maintenance, for a fair price. We have a great time we come here. Kids enjoy the outdoors and I can keep the phone out of all of our hands for a couple hours. If ya like my review hit the like button, it’s much appreciated. Pro tip: sunscreen and bug spray up

They have to be on a leash. There is a small fenced in area to allow them to play and run free. They have 2 sides one for small dogs, one for larger dogs. Some toys provided along with waste bags.
Absolutely. Bass, warmouth, bluegill, swamp fliers, catfish, maybe a redbreast. From the bank, fish dock, or boat. Go early while it is cooler. You will enjoy it a lot more. And drink plenty of water!
Yes if you dont plan on everyone cycling next to rach other
There are washers and dryers in both comfort stations in the campground, but not in the cottages.
Yes but there isn't any fish in the lake right now they had to drain it bc of a bacteria in the water
You can but it is a whole lot safer for our surrounding forests if you use local wood gathered less than 25 miles from the park. The park has wood and, yes, you must pay for it but those funds help support the park. That wood comes from fallen trees that the staff remove so your park stays clean, safe, and beautiful. And that bundle of wood should provide you adequate campfire, probably for more one night.
About 81 miles by land. About 30 if you could straight across the swamp.
I can't there for the whole weekend and never saw a pool so if they got one I don't know about it and I want all over the car so part not car p a r k
Check back 9/15. I can find out how much rentals are. The maximum length of stay is 2 weeks.
A couple. There's 1 that runs between the campground area and the cabins. It cuts through the woods and has a lovely boardwalk over the lake. I don't think you have to be staying there to use it or anything like that. There's another one that runs along the side of the lake from the cabins to the swimming area - it's short, mostly wooded so you only see the water at the 2 ends . The 3rd section is across the road from the park entrance. It has a few interconnected trails over thataway.
Correct. The lake is still down and you can only get a small boat in right now. When it is at full pool you can tow skiers and tubes.
You can call in or go out front and do your check in either way is fine
It's on the far East side
I dont think so, try the website
Yes I do believe boat are allowed on the lake.check with the Park Ranger there.
Its free
I think they have an oversized vehicle parking lot, not sure how long you can park.
Now available at campsites
Yes, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. outside of those hours there's a 10 HP limit.
Yes... 2 isolated areas roped off with "Gators Keep Out" Signs posted.😊 just kidding. Very enjoyable park. 6 miles from shopping in Waycross.
No pool. But there is a lake that provides great boating and swimming area.
Big like everyone says, but also good for canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, etc.
My daughter-in-law just reserved a site for her son's wedding. There was also a fee and the guests will have to pay $5.00 to gain access. I don't know what the initial reservation cost. You will need to call for prices.
I have teenage daughters which can often be a challenge to go to places like this. They enjoy it though. The hiking, walking, biking trails are always one of our favorites. Check their website for special events they have going on. The cabins are nice. We rent one every year for a family reunion.
Verizon was usable. At&t and sprint were useless. No pool or Hot Tub.
Yessss its a swamp. Year around mosquitos beacuse there isnt a true winter in this region. Invest in Thermacell it works great. Got mine off ebay. Stock up....buy atleast 3 and refills. Cheaper than walmart. For the record it is the largest blackwater swamp in North America.
Yes. The cabins are really nice, much better than you would expect at a state park. Ours was a two bed, one bath with a living room, kitchen, breakfast table and a screened porch.
