I suppose, but you would still need lights and such for the tunnel. A 1.6 mile walk in a cold dark tunnel may not be ideal. The entire trail is about 15 miles.

Im not sure about the dog rules but I saw a guy running it so I'm sure you could hike it. You will definitely need lights though
