About a 5 minute wait got there around 1 But the earlier the better it does get toasty.... Lots of water
We went 11ish and the line wasn't long.
I was there on a Sunday at 10am and the line was very short, less then a 5 min wait. Earlier is better. Although, I heard at night with the stars is more beautiful.
They're usually isn't a long wait.
Between 11 am and 12 pm. We had a 5 minute wait time to get in.
I got there before 6:30am there was no line and no ranger. If your there to hike it was perfect all the parking lots were empty. When I left around 2pm parking was full and a line of cars about 15 were waiting to get in.
I've only gone during the day and the best time is early as it opens. Two reasons...lines can get long still but the same isnt so hot either. After it bakes in the sun a bit it gets rather toasty
