Someone told me there were at one time gators in the lake and shouldn't camp in tent or bring a dog camping. Are there gators?

I swam in the lake and allowed my kids to swim. Often in SC, there are alligators in ponds and lakes. The park is rustic and unspoiled. Don't let the rumors of gators ruin a nice visit.

I walked and kayak all the way around the lake/ pond, i saw no gators. All way keep your dog on a leash and watch around you. Snakes are the worry the gators

Yes there are, but the camp sites are very far uphill from water. Approximate distance is 1/3 mile. Dogs are fine

Not sure about gators but always be aware of your surroundings is always best.
