Nice campground with easy access to the south side of the lake. When the water level is high, there is no sandy beach and you need to walk through wet, muddy terrain to get to the lake. The campground is a quick 10-15 min drive from downtown Joseph which is awesome for souvenir shops and tons of local restaurant choices. The marina is very close to the campground and also has a huge parking lot if you have a boat. There are tons of squirrels, chipmunks and other members of the rodent family abound in the campground and they are not scarred of people. This campground also has a reputation for lots of deer walking through it. The campground has full hookups at each site with electric, water and sewer, although BE AWARE, they ask you to only dump GREY WATER down the sewer at the site. We talked to our neighbors and they said that is a fairly new "rule" within the last couple years. I would be shocked if everyone in the entire campground just used the single black water dump station at the entrance and not dumped their black tank at their site. As far as I can tell, there's no possible way they could monitor what tank you're dumping in the sewer. THE ONLY NEGATIVE for this campground is the sites are VERY CLOSE TOGETHER. Some sites don't even have 20 feet between your site and the backside of the next camper. It really seemed like they tried to pack as many spots in the campground as they possibly could get away with. If you don't mind being close to all your neighbors, then the campground is great, no other complaints.

Beautiful. The birds were a-flying, the water refreshed our feet after our walking, and my husband skipped a stone ten times. He even fooled a bald eagle into thinking the fish were at the surface!

My family has been visiting Wallowa Lake state park since I was a little kid. If you’re coming from Portland or Eugene it is a long long drive but worth it if you’re staying a week or longer. The lake is picturesque and because it’s an older campground the camp sites are more open than newer parks. Lots of wildlife to be seen including bears, deer, and chipmunks.

Situated at the North end of Wallowa Lake, it is a great spot to camp in tent or rv ( DRY and Power/Water only ), launch Motorcraft at several different ramps, there is a rocky silty Beach with very clean safe swimming ( 70 degrees ) kayaking, paddle boarding area stretching from the boat ramps at west to the river inlet on the east side, there the water dropped about 20 degrees in temp. This spot is popular for fly fishing. Very nice. Also there was no day use fee being collected. We do prefer the south end as it's a nicer view and less congested for swim and paddle activities. Don't miss the creek / river at the amphitheater parking .. truly idyllic lunch picnic spot. This is a really clean uncrowded beautiful place with the best swimming water ( aside from the ROCKY beach ). Joseph is much nicer than most resort towns and

The yurts have 4 electrical outlets as well as an electric heater.
There are cabins and lodges to rent. There is also a state park with RV and tent camping where the mule deer walk around like pets.
Went there and found the course. Pole holes are not permanent, but nice mats to tee off from. We were there on a very busy weekend and had to play around two wedding parties and numerous picnickers and campers. Fun little course.
Make a reservation 9 months in advance for a week or two in summer, as this is Oregon's most popular state park. Pay attention to 5th Wheel site size, if you need room for a tent. Also, you must pay in advance on your credit card. However, whatever you must do will be worth it!
There are 2 yard sided yurts that I know of
The state park doesn't but the adjacent marina does. Boats, kayaks and other watercraft.
You can catch Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout, Mackinaw, Kokanee and even Smallmouth Bass in the lower elevations. Yes its good for fishing!
Yes, better than any other carrier
Wallowa Lake's state park is ALWAYS open year round ie: right now. It is current unaffected by the virus situation.
121Full hookup, (36 pull-through) $32 88 tent sires with water nearby $20

Is there any place in the area to ride ATV
If it says what footage of trailer days smaller then yours. No you can put a bigger size in this area
There are no tent pads. There are just logical locations for your tent.
Wallowa Lake State Park is by far the best. Bathrooms, good sites, can reserve ahead of time.
Our dog loved it! Keep Pup on a leash and watch out for squirrels.
Yes i believe that you can. I am pretty sure that you can and would be a awesome place for a wedding
$5 a bundle in a wheelbarrel about 7 or so logs it's always good to burn wood sold at parks. Keeps away invasive bugs.
As long as you are in your camp spot you can sleep in your car. If there are extra cars with your group then it is an extra charge for parking them. I think it was $7 per night for extra vehicles.
Didn't go swimming,to cold. Did see some nice beaches and platforms to swim out to.
Not at the park but there is one at a go cart track about 1/4 mile away
Verizon does well
20/30/50 amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV, patios, and picnic tables at each site. The Park includes 24-hour restrooms, showers, and laundry; plus soda pop vending machines and ice for sale. The park’s lobby has coffee, book exchange, TV, telephone fireplace, pool table, and game table for their guests. Wi-Fi is available in the entire park
There are public picnic areas available, first come first served. Some outside the park.
I think it's Noon but it may be 1:00 P.M.
The yurts are VERY nice. They have bunks that are queen on the bottom and twin on top. Plus a queen futon. There is heat and windows that open. There is a very nice sky light at the top cornice of the ceiling. My daughter's family stay in the yurts when we all stay in Wallowa State Park. There are no cabinets or kitchens, but a coffee table.
Can buy at camp,5$ will last you at least 1 night.
There are BBQ stands in the picnic area. The camp sites have fire pits.
You'll have to Register with the Park Service prior to you Family Reunion because of the camping sites that are available. Also there is Camping spots for travel trailers and Motor Home's as far as cabins there are cabin's for lease or for Rent during the event with the Reunion. You will have to call Wallowa Lake State Park and work out the details.
Yes there is. Outside of the overnight camping area there are 2 day use parking lots and a very large parking lot at the marina.
About 6 miles north on OR 351. Maybe 10 minutes, tops from the state park.
