We were there a week after memorial day weekend a couple years ago. It was 95 degrees, the wind was blowing 40 miles per hour and the sun was so hot, it burned you even in the shade. We decided Farewell Bend is a good place to wave at as we drive down to Utah. BUT, the park is excellently maintained, it's clean and the staff is great. Oh, they got catfish here?
The catfish are starting to bite now. We have people on the river already. There is free camping all up and down the river if you don't need amenities, otherwise farewell bend is open and there are 2 rv parks in Huntington
WOW! that means getting a camp site maybe tough during that weekend. I'm from Seattle and heard lots of good stories about catfish fishing in this area. Do you know of a good spot/location for catfish fishing from the river bank, and when is the best time for this activity.
Think the river still be too cold yet
Great time for catfish. The town of Huntington which is just up the road has a huge catfish tournament that weekend.
