Nice well maintained park. The staff were pleasant, the guests were pleasant, the maps they provide were helpful to show us all the trails that are around there. The beach is beautiful with nice big waves. Everyone seems to know it's a good one. There are rarely spots available at this park. We did a random impromptu visit because we happened to notice they had a spot available! I would definitely recommend a visit. It is good to note that it is also a day use park not just a campground. So if they don't have sites available you can still use the day use area.

Nice clean campgrounds great hilltop views of the ocean and campsites slope slightly to drain water properly, nice tree coverage to provide shade and protection from the rain, surprisingly clean bathrooms and showers very attentive Park hosts and volunteers

A wonderful state park. D loop is very close to 101 so you hear a lot of the highway noise but its tucked away in the back so you don't have too much park traffic. Nice short walk to the beach.

This is my favorite OR coast campground. I love all the basalt rocks on the shore here. There are 4 beaches, separated by rocky outcroppings. At low tide you can walk around the rocks separating the northernmost beach and it’s neighbor. …

what are the rates and how far in advance to register?
If you register and pay through ReserveAmerica, you can pull in at anytime you need. There's more specifics available on the ReserveAmerica site.
It is $8 registration fee and no other fee for up to 10 days. You must have the State Park pass that proves he qualifies. Available through Oregon VA benefits I believe.
When looking towards the ocean, on the left down the beach there is a path that leads up over driftwood/boulders. If you go up around there are tide pools and a rock arch.
I live about 2 miles from Harris Beach in Brookings. If you want to know about camping there, look up Oregon State Parks. Brookings is a great place to live. It is a small town with a lot of duplexes. Two considerations are little employment options and medical care. Also you have to drive 3 hours to Mediford for specialists.
I don't think so.
They have tents around the park. But not sure about electrical. The park is great beach with the beach views you will ooooo and ahhhh over Beach. Honing north has so many Kodak moments. Make sure you get to Pistol river. Gorgeous turnouts and trails on beachside . Its about 20 miles from Harris back park. Nice trail on ocean side that will get you into town So much to do. Check out southern beaches and lots of woods redwood forest. You can even go horse back riding on beachh. We even have large jet boat rides up the rogue. River. Our visitor center has very good volunteers. Enjoy Oregon and come back again soon Sorry, my computer is not co operating. How it was good info
No, but easy parking and turn around by the lower parking lot, by the restrooms. Gorgeous day, I'm walking on Harris Beach right now.
Sorry, don't know. Beautiful place. One of the best!
If the county goes extreme, I doubt they will cancel reservations. Bullards State Park in Coos County has remained open and I think Coos has been extreme for awhile.
You will need reservations for overnight camping. You can reserve here: https://oregonstateparks.reserveamerica.com/campsiteSearch.do
Yes they are, all the way down to the beach access.
Yes, but you must have reservations if you want to stay in the campground. Public parking at the beach and the bluffs is open for day use. Be safe.
Crook point is by Pistol River. Pistol River is halfway between Brookings and Gold Beach so 20 to 30 minutes depending on how comfortable you are on pretty big corners in fog, wind and or rain depending on the day 🙂
Agree with above- We camped there recently. Very nice campground. Clean bathrooms and nice hot showers.
20 a night
Not certain, give them a call.
Anytime after 11
32 for hookup sites, not sure about tents. It is a campground and there is a day use site there as well. Just camped there a couple weeks ago, it was VERY nice!
The water is cold, you can swim in the water anytime of the year you would like at your own risk.
Yes, see my review for photos of the bathroom
I wouldn't know.
Yeah I'm quite sure you can use a small pen of sorts for your pet(s). People do it often.
Yes,very pet friendly.
You would have to call local fire departments concerning an open fire.
We had a site with power, water, and sewer. 15/30/50 amp power.
I didn't stay in a yurt. We tented. The website says 45 a night. 55 for pet friendly
Yes they allow trailers and dogs you will need to either call them or go online for pricing and availability
None at harris beach. However, there are some near by. The Alfred A. Loeb State Park on the Chetco river does have cabins. Its also right next to the northern most redwood grove which not too many people know about.
If you hike into the campground you can get a spot in the hiker/biker area
There were still spots available when i went. It is undergoing some great renovations book now for summertime fun!
Bastendorff beach in Charleston is a awesome place to camp the state beach has free camping
