Hungry Clam is a good spot for a casual seafood experience. We got there right after they opened on Sunday at 11 and the line was short as was the wait for the food but we were warned that at times the line gets really long and the wait for food can be up to an hour. By the time we left the line was out the door and all the tables were full so be prepared for a wait if you go during lunchtime. The food is good, the chowder is better than canned but the flavor is a little bland. The calamari is very good. Next time I plan on having calamari and fish and chips, skipping the chowder.

The hottest chowder I've ever had. Lots of clams, very delicious! Chowder was ready before I finished paying for it.

The fish and chips are amazing - thick, juice pieces of fish with fries, and pretty tasty cole slaw. We got a large order (4 pieces) and split it. The only downside was the really long wait (about an hour in our case).

We have been waiting 5 years to come back to the Hungry Clam and the food did not disappoint. The first day we came they were closed due to short staffing. We met a Oregonian who had driven 2 and 1/2 hours to get an order of fish and chips. She was so disappointed. If you are dependable and looking for work take them a resume asap!

I cannot say but I would assume it to be local. I can only say that my entree was good. The shrimp, calamari bits and octopus and if I recall I think it had tilapia and veggies had a great savory taste. The meats were tender, juicy/moist piping hot and not a fishy taste.
We tried to buy from the dock and didn't have any luck. We called the numbers posted on the signs and went to the docks every night hoping for some luck. If you want something for sure there is a little store that sells fresh seafood down by the docks.
Is this a review or a question? I ate there last week and it was pretty tasty.
