Water level was low about a week ago. We plan to bring our 6 yr old with us in couple of weeks. We didn't fish so not sure about the fish biting.
The water level was pretty low last time I was there and my uncle could not catch anything for four days we were there

I was at the Buffalo River about a week ago and the water level is fairly low currently, if you are looking for higher water levels you might consider visiting the river during the spring. Unfortunately the Buffalo River isn't the best for fishing, the group I went with had a guy who fished all week and caught like 3 fish total.
The floating should be good from woolum access on down. the fishing is with crawfish orange or chartreuse
Definitely hot and low water and the fish are pretty easy to catch
