I bought an iPhone8 from Best Buy, got a 1 month service from AT&T and it's now locked by AT&T claiming that I have a 6 month obligation. I live in the UK where there is no AT&T service but the lock stops transfer so can't use my phone. Can you help?

I've repeatedly talked with AT&T customer services but they struggle with the fact that I live in the UK where there is no AT&T coverage. My original question here is can Best Buy assist?
