That so called job fair they had this weekend was absolutely horrible . It was so tacky and unorganized. As I was leaving after they had us sitting in this room for over 6 hours I looked over in the hallway and it was a younger girl crying because of frustration . I came to the job fair with high hood in actually obtaining a offer letter or at least to be heard out . I sat into the interview I was barely entertained and shortly rushed out . I was told to go sign the clip board to proceed to the second stage of the interview . As I went into the lobby as instructed to do so the other representative that was assisting was as clueless as everyone else . As awaiting to be called for interview number two a little over a hour . I went and spoke to a representative that was assisting with the fair and inquired on how long it would be before my name was called with the second interview and she couldn’t even find the list where my name was placed .I was very disappointed and how this event was put on . It was heart breaking to see so many individuals dissatisfied after being there for so many hours . After a numerous amount of employees kept coming in saying how overwhelming it was and how confused they was it was saddening . I only left this comment because of the simple fact I was along some of those individuals. And I hope nothing likes this happens again because it was so many disappointed people .

This is the worst place to get a voucher from. The employees are EXTREMELY RUDE AND IGNORANT. Worst group of African Americans I’ve ever dealt with professionally. The director needs to be fired ASAP! She’s a rude narcissist who can’t do her job. No communication, no professional, no empathy for other people. They want single parents to live crime ridden areas by constantly asking the landlords to lower their rent for their properties until the landlords finally cancel the agreement. These people are disgusting to say the least. Try Harris county but not Houston. They will give you a headache every week looking for answers.

They need to replace the whole staff. You can't get anyone to answer the phone.
If you have a disability ♿ and living on a fixed income , you may qualify.
The problem may be finding a program through housing and an apartment that takes Housing vouchers.
How can u speak r make an appt..stayed on hold for 4 hers trying to speak with someone only to get a recorded message saying leave a number and someone will call u after 3 days. There is mold that has come n may daughters apt and the landlord want

Some people who are trying to get Houston Section 8 housing choice voucher from out of state, have to get it in that state and transfer it to the state you are moving to. You have to apply for it whatever state you live first.

You can try some low income apartments. You can try housing but I don't think there waiting list is open right now. Most complex do want you to make 2 times the rent or double deposit. I would say check the go section 8 website or social serve website and call some of those apartments and explain your situation they might work with you. Try Catalina Village off Dixie Dr. They probably would work with you. Ask for Mrs. Marla she's very understanding.
If you have the application fill it out and take it to the public housing and drop it off. They'll probably give you a long number so you can call and see where you're at on the waiting list
I have had a list For Years, of real extensions and real numbers to desks. It takes a couple days, but the 0600 or 0300 number WILL get you to a human between 315 and 415 ONLY. The customer service option, yes. If you fax you will get an answer that week. If you email and have DECENT staff it will be answered between 1to 2days. Go on housingforhouston.com find the staff directory, start emailing and note about 3numbers to office phones to start. Email is better.
why aren't disabled seniors getting any deductions on there Section 8 to Lower their Rent not to mention there income is under $1200.00 monthly. why no deductions.

As the mailman for HHA they have been running a limited work force but everyone is slowly coming back to work at 40%, 60% and 75% soon and fully 100% by end of labor day. The front doors or open now but only for limited hours but cars and people are in the building

In many cases, your case will take around a year to close. You need to maintain your housing that entire time and bills, if you're heading for babies to return to your home. Whatever It Takes To Keep Your Housing, Do That. CPS is not returning babies to you if you have NO House At All. They must have their beds and room space and it must be verified by or reunification. Do not ask for smaller unit. Keep what you have now. Maintain the kids home you have now. Best bet. Housing will be the easy part.

Rent will not increase due to funding. I should be 30-45 days. I've been waiting since 7/5 for a move packet and just got it 10/18 due to the hurricane. More people are in need of assistance at this moment. So rent will not increase at all.
