FYI in the afternoon if its to capacity the will no longer allow walk ins and only people with appointments can enter. That is why you make an appointment. I suggest if you do have an appointment arrive 1 hour before. You cannot check in earlier than an hour before but if by chance you are stuck outside in line, you won't lose your place.

You can only get first time licenses at this place. If you go to a mega center you have to reserve your spot in line. If you don’t have transportation you are screwed these people will not care to talk to you to help accommodate your needs like schedule a specific time when you will have a ride. I was just there today and there was 3 ladies sitting at the door giving information and they were really nice. It was my first time here but the experience was great. I do have to say that you will need to make an appointment before you go there otherwise it will be a longer experience. The first thing they ask is if you have an appointment.

You need proof of citizenship (birth certificate/passport) proof of residency (bill/check stub in your name with correct address) and proof of identity (social security card). You can find all this information on DPS website. Your best bet is to schedule your appointment. You do not need a DL to schedule. Hope this helps.

The referred to kiosk is only fast and easy if you did the online appointment scheduler, otherwise you stand there for as long as it takes to fill out an application; needless to say if you're a slow reader and the line is long they are going to tell you the kiosk is only for those with appointments only. I don't know about hazmat...but I just went to the location because I was trying to do the appointment online and it was not letting me so when I got to the location I told them I was trying to do online but no success for making an appointment and they made my appointment there at the location and I ended up getting seen the same day 👍🏼
