it's a beautiful area to launch a Kayak with no fees. boats are $7 dollars to launch and overnight for trailers $10.00 per night.
Some mountain views, but its a very pretty place, peaceful ☺
Twanoh park has small rocks
You see up and down the Hood Canal, the Olympic National Forest is across the canal.
In the camping site, there is but by the water there is a shower outside the bathroom building.
Fishing is allowed but there is a restriction zone around the mouth of the creek where the salmon run.
The limit is 18 oysters and yes, you must leave the shells on the beach.
I think you can. There is a charge for it tho.
Fire ban hasn't started yet
Yes, oysters are plentiful. Check Fish & Wildlife regulations for seasons. Your limit is 18 shucked on the beach. Must have a valid shellfishing license and discover pass to access this area.
I don't know. Sorry I don't like clams or oysters lol
They are!! You have to have them close to you and on a leash. Make sure to pick up the poop!
For Clam and Oyster season you can refer to the website below. Have fun out there. https://wdfw.wa.gov/places-to-go/shellfish-beaches/270460
It's a large park, however there is no real manicured pathways, except for the campground, the road going through or in-between the waterfront park and the campground is a 2 lane small highway (hwy 106), no real shoulder either, not a road to bicycle on unless your highly experienced. So yes you could bike around the park easy enough but it is definitely not made to do so.
As I understand, there aren't many crabs left in this part of Good Canal. Pollution.
You have to shuck them on the beach. You can't even take any shells to the campground to cook them in. But you can always buy a dozen or more to use the shells to cook the ones you shuck. There are a few places locally to get Oysters. I recommend, Billy The Oyster Guy, across from the Gull gas station/store just before the park, if you're coming from Belfair. $7/doz, any size. He's state licensed, and gives you a receipt. Enjoy!
Yes there is!
Depends on the size of the RV. The website should have better information.
Head West from the park for the expensive places, and East for more affordable lodging.
Just a regular parking lot.
